holi!

Hi everyone. Updating to tell you that I went to Holi yesterday with isla. Holi is an Indian festival to celebrate Indian new year. Its also called the festival of colour, you will see why!...

We left in the early afternoon looking like this....

...And returned looking like this...

It was a great day. We got henna designs done, indian food, bollywood dancing and the festival of colour. The festival of colour is throwing colourful powder paint and water at eachother to celebrate the new year.

Isla and I got pretty covered as you can see

Having mum and Janette in Dundee with me during my reading week last weeks was great. I really enjoyed it, i hope they both did as well.

Mum took me to the 50's American Diner for breakfast one morning. We even got a Bob Dylan track from the jukebox!

The Photograpgh of the building is my new flat. We managed to get another viewing so I hope that mum has told you good things about it. We should be allowed to move in to it in the next month to paint etc.

We ventured out to the cocktail bar with my flatmates but unfortunately it wasn't one of the quieter more civilised evenings.

I guess mum and Jan got to see what student places can be like. Still, we got a few Cosmopolitans and found a tucked away corner. It still didn't stop Mum and Janette favouring a glass of wine though!

All in all it was a really good night and we eventually tore ourselves away to bed for an early start in the morning for Edinburgh...

... Up early with a quick breakfast and the three of us were on our way to Edinburgh. We all had a bit of a sleep on the bus and arrived by lunchtime. We went to Valvona and Crolla for our lunch which was lovely. Janette told me all about the history of the family behind it. After a quick wizz down the streets and before I knew it it was time for me to catch my bus back to Dundee.

I won't lie I was a bit teary as I left them but I console myself that it's only a month before I am home once again.
